Face Aging Exhibit.
WHAT I DID:
Designed the interactive based on the exhibit design and colours.
Built the interactive using the old exhibits framework.
Tested the interactive
Worked with our workshop team to build the lighting and seat positioning.
This project was a re-imagining of an old exhibit at Science World. The old exhibit had a horribly outdated interface, and required a mouse & keyboard to operate. My challenge was to make it look and function better, and make it a touch interactive. The face aging engine was an old system used by police to find missing children which was modified by a third party vendor. When we first tested it, it kept making people look like zombies, even children! After much digging into the parameters, we realized that its default was set to a lifetime of smoking and sun damage. My idea to just making it a Walking Dead exhibit was avoided.
